What is the Platinum “Enhanced Executive” Physical Exam?
Prime Healthcare Providers created its “Executive" Physical” to mirror that of a Fortune 500 Executive.
It provides you with a complete comprehensive health assessment of your current state of health, which allows you to manage your future health needs. This assessment is personalized & gender-specific, & includes a series of sophisticated diagnostic tests.
It also includes an extensive risk review of your medical history & lifestyle, & a detailed written follow-up report. Such thorough & complete examinations are not standard in medical practices since medical insurance companies do not reimburse physicians for them & many offices are not equipped to perform them.
What makes the “Executive” Physical Exam different than a standard insurance wellness visit?
A standard insurance wellness visit is a 10 minute visit with a medical assistant that does not touch on very much besides screening for basic items.
The “Executive” Physical Exam is a form of preventive medicine consisting of physical & diagnostic evaluations done by your doctor that usually takes a minimum of a few hours to complete.
It is guided not by what has been deemed cost effective in any given population, but instead it is driven by an individual’s unique risks & balanced by available resources to effectively detect preventable illnesses. For the past 100 years, similar physical exams have been administered to pilots, astronauts, Fortune 500 executives, & very wealthy individuals for whom cost is not an issue. As a result, a test that may not be cost effective for the society at large in detecting preventable illnesses is still offered for this corporate executive.
Cost cutting managed care plans & medical insurances think in terms of populations, not unique individuals. They set standards & restrictions that can inhibit a physician’s ability to deliver truly “best of the best” care. They have a certain budget that must be allocated towards the most important healthcare items. Thus, allocating funds for a sophisticated test may less appealing to them than making sure everyone in their network receives the most basic preventative tests.

What is the overview of the process?
All patients coming to Prime Healthcare Providers for an “Executive” Physical Exam need to complete the on-line Preparation Package prior to their appointments. Please contact our office at (713) 932-0118 for your instructions. Or go to our website & download the necessary forms.
The on-line Preparation Package enables Prime Healthcare Providers to confidentially store your contact information & health history, & also gives you the opportunity to tell us more about your health, diet, exercise & lifestyle habits, so your Prime Healthcare Providers team can assess your state of health & provide recommendations.
When you arrive for your “Executive” Physical, we make every effort to ensure your experience is very pleasant, enjoyable, & informative. We suggest that you wear comfortable clothing, as some components of the exam are active. If you take medicine or vitamins, please be prepared to fill out a list of your current pills, their dosages, & how often you are taking each one.
Lastly, eating interferes with our cholesterol measurement so please do not eat or drink anything except water & medication for 8 hours prior to your Presidential Physical.
Part 1: Physical Examination & Medical Consultation (1-2 hours)
On the day of your “Executive” Physical, you will fill out a detailed medical history questionnaire. You will then meet with your physician to review your medical history. Your physician will then perform a personalized “hanced Executive” Physical , mirroring the comprehensive exam a Fortune 500 Executive receives. Based on your medical history, your physician may request certain additional imaging tests be performed at our sister VIP imaging center.
Part 2: Imaging tests (1-2 hours)*
Part 3: Concluding Consultation
Concluding consultation, review of exam results, Wellness & Lifestyle Consultation.
Two to four days after your "Executive” Physical, your physician will see you for a follow-up visit .

Is the “Executive” Physical covered by my insurance?
No. The vast majority of insurance companies do not pay for even a very basic annual physical exam as they now only provide basic preventive services that they call a wellness visit. Since doctors no longer get reimbursed for doing physical exams, most Americans in the future will never receive one. Some components of the physical exam may be covered by your medical insurance. The Prime Healthcare Providers staff can help you to find out which components are covered by your plan.
